I have just had one of the best moments in my entire life of dog-ownership. On our afternoon walk, Millie and I were passing by a small playground and there was a little boy in a wheelchair with cerebral palsy. His mum was lifting him out of the wheelchair so he could sit on the ground and feel the grass. Millie wagged her tail from a distance and (on her extendable lead) made her way over to the mum and child in a gentle manner and as she approached, she rolled over a few times instead of walking until she was close to the child, bearing her tummy so he could touch her. His face was beaming with the loveliest of smiles and (with some assistance) he was able to rub Millies tum and around her face. Poked her in they eye but Millie just took it calmly. The little boy had never touched a dog before and Millie decided that she would be That Dog. Such a proud mum!!
