I have lived with a belief system that most would consider agnostic.. I have lived with a belief system most would consider atheistic.. hell, for some of the old hellfire & brimstone pastors, Ive lived with a Satanic set of values, but Ive just gotta put it out there: life as a Christian has been the most fulfilling one could really want. Oh sure, Im chock full of sin and shortcoming and perhaps wouldnt qualify as the quintessential Christian, but I can tell which way is up now. I respect the intellect of scientists like Neil DeGrasse Tyson and even the logic of Richard Dawkins, et al. I just have to wonder if theyve ever been grateful.. have they ever felt and known familial or romantic love? Have they ever known that something was smiling down on them for their accomplishments, or urging them forward through their failures? With a head full of doubt to begin, I am learning to truly appreciate what I have, and I can scientifically fill my head (and yours) with doubt, but this beautiful, snowy evening in Roanoke, Virginia, Im glad to know theres a God looking out for me.. my son.. my pretty lady.. and awesome family and friends scattered tither and yon. Its a good thing, folks... Im tellin ya.
