I have made a very difficult decision this week. It is with a heavy heart that I have resigned from the Humane Society of Sullivan County and my positions as President, Fundraising Coordinator, Volunteer Coordinator, PR/Marketing and Social Media Coordinator, off-site adoption event and Community Outreach Coordinator and shelter photographer. For those of you that know me well, I have devoted a tremendous amount of time and effort to the success of our shelter as an unpaid volunteer for the past 5 years. To know that just a short 5 years ago, our community had no resources for homeless and abandoned animals, to the amazing shelter that it has become today, was nothing shy of a miracle. I am driven by passion, passion to help animals and people in need and I assumed the role as the leader of this organization with pride and determination and I am very proud of the success we have had in such a short time. I made a conscious decision years ago to further my nursing career and achieve my goal of becoming a flight nurse, which required me to work and gain valuable experience in Indianapolis, but I remained here in Sullivan and commuted to the big city because I felt a sense of community here and I believed I could make a difference. I have been loyal to the role as President and the Administrator of this page, always answering my phone, text messages, emails and Facebook messages from anyone that has needed my help, always trying to find a solution for every problem or situation. It was exhausting at times, but the relationships that were built was the key to our organizations success. Without the community support, fans on Facebook and our positive marketing approach to homeless animals and the importance of spay/neuter, we wouldnt be where we are today. It has been an honor to serve this community to the best of my abilities. The support that I have received from family, friends and the community has been tremendous and I will be forever grateful. I hope that my career in animal welfare is not over and I will find myself helping animals again someday soon. To all of the fans of this page, supporters and pet parents that I have had the pleasure of working with over the past 5 years, I thank you! It has been a pleasure and the most rewarding experience of my life! Remember to Adopt dont Shop, Spay/Neuter your pets and.... Behind these Trailers, we are saving Lives.... Sincerely, Miranda Hay
