I have met several fellow artists from all over the Philippines and have been exposed to the culture existing in different parts of my homeland. All this makes me a very proud Filipino. Sadly, i have to admit that I am not and simply cannot be proud to be a kagay-anon. I cannot believe that I grew up in such a CULTURALLY DEFICIENT city. Cagayan de Oro is a city inhabited by quite a number of people who like to call themselves artists yet only a measly number of these people truly deserve the title. Shame on schools from cdo for not being able to cultivate and produce enough culturally eloquent individuals. SHAME ON MY HIGH SCHOOL ALMA MATER for crushing that flame of passion that very few of their culturally eloquent students have. I am speaking as an artist who sees so much potential with regards to how a city like cdo could cultivate art and develop culturally. I hope that someday I can be proven wrong for this conclusion but as of this day I rest my case.
