I have never posted negative opinions on FB before until now. But today is the day. This is about Sallisaw baseball. My son has quit baseball. He has played the sport for 14 years. Jadon has been in sports since he was 4. He has always given 110%. He has discipline and a great work ethic. He could not achieved what he has done without these character traits. There have been times I would get frustrated at coaches and Jadon would always say, It will be ok. If anyone knows Jadon he has patience and a big heart. He has always put his team members first. He has never quit anything in his life until now... Finally, he was in a situation that was so frustrating and demeaning that he realized he didnt need to tolerate being in such an environment any more. As I said before, Jadon has played baseball for 14 years, he loves the sport. He loved being with his friends and just playing the game. He gave up going to wresting Senior Nationals this week at Virginia Beach, Virginia to be with his baseball team because this was baseball season. He didnt think that would be right to leave his team and not go with them when they played a tournament in Pensacola, Florida. But Jadon finally had enough of how he was being treated and how the coach brought him and his team down all the time. Jadon feels he was treated like he was because he was going to college on wrestling. Coach knew baseball wasnt his number one sport, so Jadon was a waste of coaching time. I can only guess what else he thought about Jadon. When he went from a starting position last season to being benched like has been this year. I think it is very sad that a coach is allowed to treat kids unfairly... I also think it is wrong that a coach can be so rude to the parents. I dont care what kind of personality you have. You should be considerate enough to say hello to people. In my opinion rudeness is inexcusable for any person in any profession. His behavior and attitude towards coaching and the environment he created must have been really something else for my son to walk in and say Im done! That has never came out of my sons mouth in his life!!!! So as his mom, I just wanted to say, Thanks coach for being the person that created such an adverse environment that my son wanted to quit a sport he has played for years. Your a great mentor to kids!!! Im very proud of Jadon for doing this though. Im glad he is man enough to know when he is in a bad situation and when its time to get out... Jadon will not cower to anyone and has enough self respect not to be in a demeaning environment for very long.
