I have received a parking charge of £100 from a company called ParkingEye. The charge is for waiting outside a hotel for a client...something I have done 100s of times previous, yet the hotel have very recently (and unbeknown to me) changed the car park from barrier entry, to pay and display, and although I never actually entered one of the car parks, I just waited in the road outside the hotel, it still applies. Anyhow, internet advice says ignore and there is nothing they can do, although their letter looks very authentic (as it would) and threatens bailiffs etc if ignored. Whats best? As I was unaware of the change to the car park, Ive done it twice since the date so am expecting a few more in the post also.
