I have received interesting responses when people find out that I run Isaacs Closet from my home. It began when I started getting requests for all the clothes my son outgrew. Word spread fast that I give them away. But when I have been blessed as much as I was I have a hard time turning around and making a buck off what I have been given, it just does not seem an honest thing to do. The people who gave me all I have could have sold it themselves but they didnt. They shared. So I am paying it forward. I invite anyone who questions it to come wash and sort and deliver the donations with me. Its a small operation with a huge need. I have a list of moms already in desperate need and I am working as fast as I can to meet those needs before it gets cold. I also hope to make this a much bigger operation. So if it bothers you that I do this from my home feel free to drop in and see how it works. I have a small but clean home and my husband and family are sacrificing space as well as time to give to this ministry. And we could always use help. Its overwhelming at times but the reaponse from the moms make it so worth it. We are still in desperate need of warm kids clothes of all sizes, diapers, bottles, wipes, coats, hats, gloves, blankets, socks and shoes, baby food and formula and even samples and ANYTHING kid or baby related. I also take toys and books because I believe each child should have a book and a toy. If these moms cannot afford clothes then you know the kids have little to no books or toys and the look on their little faces is worth it. I use my husbands old truck to pick up donations. I wash and mend what I can. I clean up everything the best I can while caring for my own little 5 month old. I do not do it for recognition. I do it because there is a need. I sincerely hope to find a church where I can set up a permanent location and be able to service so many more without the expense of rent since I, too, do not have a large budget. So if you do not like that I do it from my home that is ok. I dont expect everyone to understand. But for those that donate and give I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. You make it possible for me to give these moms what they could not otherwise get. I will be available THIS Friday and Saturday for donation pick ups (and most weekends and evenings). Saturday I will be in Muskogee and Broken Arrow. I try to meet when its easiest for donators. And donators are always welcome to drop them off at my home.
