I have seen Sr. Pastors, Sr. Executives, Sr. Leaders like King Saul loose thier anointing and sanity like King Sual. They begin to sabotage thier jr. leaders and seek thier demise like Saul with David. Even when that jr. leader is submitted to the protocols and authority with no desire for that sr. leaders position. Even when that jr. leader is helping bring growth like David was through his battles. It is no longer about the team, but personal jealousy, insecurity and rebellion towards God by the sr. leader. They can find imaginary reasons like Saul did with David, but it never goes through judicial procces or proven objectively true. The enemy and sin play tricks on a leaders mind. The leader like Saul begins to hate and in some cases even plot the death of the jr. The more the sr. leader loves thier position above principle, truth, God and kingdom the more threatened they will be over thier position and avoid judicial processes. Sual sought to kill David directly. Sin unchecked in the soul leads to burn out and institutional destruction. Read 1 Samuel 18 for more details. 1 Samuel 18:28-29 NIV When Saul realized that the Lord was with David and that his daughter Michal loved David, Saul became still more afraid of him, and he remained his enemy the rest of his days.
