I have spoke about this before to folk but I just wanted to put it on here for a wider view. Watching a few news reports and documentarys on the practices for FIFA to host the world cups in the chosen countries has brought me to the brink of boycotting it. I am still latching on right now do to my love of the game and even still dabbling in gambling on the games. Like the Olympics to some degree, this event seems to only be for the betterment of the organization. FIFA is bullying countries to change laws to let them come to town, to let the host nation to build everything yet Fifa takes most of the money, doesnt pay taxes and has reportedly 1 BILLION Dollars in the bank as a reserve. I think its about time they just run the world cup from one location, they can even go into a PR frenzy with it, build a FIFA World Cup City, a place where it has all the stadiums required, all the other guff to go along with it. Could even still keep the Host country gets a free spot let them do the theme for the world cup and they get their free spot. No countries will get screwed over (well of course where ever this City might be will probably get screwed) however at least it will not be systematically destroying countries. Brazils economy might be getting better but to think there is a $275mil stadium in Manaus that will host 4 games and not have anyone there to use it after is just madness.
