I have the privilege of showing you John Kimbers (my Dad) art - TopicsExpress

I have the privilege of showing you John Kimbers (my Dad) art work. I am so proud as to how far he has come with his paintings over the years. I remember as a little girl I would go into his work shop and watch him paint for hours, I would sit - never still or quiet - and i would watch. John has been painting his whole life. His first painting was when he was 8y.o. It was of The Bellbird Hotel and it won 1st prize at the Wagga Art Show. John uses a technique of blending colours to create shapes which then remind him of trees, posts, mountains etc. He loves the Australian bush, he gets a lot of inspiration from it. He rides around on his Honda shadow and takes in whats around him. He remembers details of what hes seen and applies it to create his paintings/sketches. In the early 1960s John was doing an apprenticship in the printing industry which allowed him to completed a certificate of fine art. He was a member of the Sherbrooke art society for a few years, and is now a member of the Bairnsdale and district art society. Some people who have inspired him over the years are, his Dad Hugh Kimber, he use to take him to watch other artists paint and was also an artist himself. Ernie Trembath who is a well known artist and a very good friend of Johns. William Turner and Hans Heysen are also artists who have inspired him. A few years ago John became unwell and suffered a stoke. This severely affected his painting ability, along with other passions of his. However that wasnt going to stop him. Painting through rehabilitation help him gain control again and Since moving to Bairnsdale, he has created his own studio at the back of his property, where he can now go and relax and do what he does best. My show of support is to help John sell his paintings. Hes not in it for the money, he just wants to paint, however it can be an expensive hobby,, so we have convinced John to start selling his art. Share it with people who appreciate it. There are canvass and framed. Most of the paintings can be viewed (by appointment) or purchased on line. Please contact myself - Chelsea Gentle - through this page by PM. More photos of Johns art will be posted over time. Thank you for your support and please share Johns page with all of your friends. -Chelsea-
