I have to be honest - I am so very impressed with our summer dealings...we very rarely get our transfers sorted until 5 to 12 on August 31st, and here is a side on July 19th that are ready to fight on all fronts! Of course - last season, the defensive mind-set in the big games, the lack of silverware, and the recent departure of some favourites hasnt at all been ideal, but very quickly Jose has addressed the age issue, replaced seasoned champions with younger winners, and we are ready! An already solid defensive unit - not just as a back 4 but as a team, has been added to by the fabulous Courtois and Luis - 2 players who would have made it into any European XL for probably the previous 2 seasons, and for me our best player last season (Lord Dave) can now actually kick a ball with his preferred foot...the midfield looks as interchangeable as any with so many all-round gifted players, and most importantly for us I believe we have pace and goals in there...Matic will be like a new signing in being with us from the off, and I am very excited to see our new world cup winner in Schürrle take to the field - someone who got better as the season progressed, and someone whose quality showed - the bigger the game...top that with a 36 goal a season striker who boasts many Drogba-like qualities, and the re-addition of a young powerhouse who has bagged 40 premier league goals during the last 2 seasons at lesser clubs, and we have a finalised jigsaw! Impressive, compact, young, ready - well done Chelsea Football Club - I am looking forward to this season more than any previous - a team for now and the future #cfc
