I have to say that seeing that one blogger is back attacking the Salisbury Fire Department is very disheartening. To the outsider you may wonder why do they need all that nice fancy equipment and why do they use it to ride all over? Well it was not that long ago that the Salisbury Fire Department was the Red Headed Child of Salisbury ( nothing against Red heads). With a aging fleet that demanded more money for maintenance to keep it running and in operation both former Chief Brezzler and then Deputy Chief See devised a game plan for replacement of the fleet. Chief see was able to see that plan through with the replacement of capital pieces of apparatus for the reduce operational expenses. You see the members of the Salisbury Fire Department all love what they do, as we are a combination department. When we have our gear in you can not tell who is paid and and who is career we are a family and as family goes we sometimes have arguments and fights but we are still a family. So while the public is doing what they do and traveling where they go the Salisbury Fire Department is there to protect the citizen the county tax payer and the traveler passing through the Delmarva crossroads. Just as the Salisbury Police Department does the same, I was speaking with a Salisbury Police officer yesterday and he told me that they are now even getting looked at when they eat. Really is this what everyone wants to be doing? Come on give them a break when you call 911 both organizations are there to assist and it does not matter what time of day or night or the weather.
