I have watched this 45 minute clip right through. This is a serious problem within Australia and Western Countries. There are also immigration implications involved, so we are talking about fraudulently entering into our country through spousal visa, these poor women have endured unspeakable pain both physically, mentally and emotionally. More needs to be done to help women in this situation and the family that have forced the marriage upon them should all face criminal charges, including the Imams that have conducted the marriage ceremony, when it is clearly against the womans wishes. Many of these forced marriages are from under aged girls, so we are also talking about pedophilia. I may be against Islam and its followers, however I praise these young women for coming forward and blowing the whistle on their families and their community at large. For the most part they have been denounced from their families for opposing them. They have put their lives at great risk, not only from their forced marriages, but also from their male family members. Most of these forced marriages are also with other family members, such as 1st cousins, which again is against the law. What I do hope is that more young girls and women have the courage to speak up, pick up the phone and get help from the Domestic and family violence support groups. So they can get on with their lives as free women from oppression and are able to live a full and fulfilling life.
