I havent really posted anything from myself in a while, and I want - TopicsExpress

I havent really posted anything from myself in a while, and I want people to know something important, so please read the whole thing. I was diagnosed with ADHD and depression when I was a child, and have been through what I assume is the same problems most face when dealing with those 2 things while growing up. And I want everyone to know, no matter what youre struggling with, your mind can recover, and more quickly and easily than the rest of your body. All it takes is a shift in your perspective, something that has taken me years to truly apply to my life. Im not saying Im a master at doing it, or that I am perfect, or that I dont still struggle with ADHD. What I am saying is, I have completely treated my depression, and all I had to do was shift my perspective. We all think thoughts, thats a given. But what are the differences between those who get really depressed and those who dont? Ive studied the psychology of it ever since I was a young student, getting picked on by fellow classmates because of the fact I took medication, when I was in the 3rd grade. But I havent studied it in a conventional sense for quite a while. I learned about the science of changing reality, or in more clear terms, shifting perspective, after high school and I didnt automatically believe it right away. What I did decide to do, is test out a hypothesis and I studied it observationally. It took a long time before I could say its absolutely true and works. Its always a tennis game within the mind until you reach a point when youve seen enough things change (because of this shift in perspective) that it could NOT be coincidence. This is me, trying to help anyone who comes across this. If you knew a great secret of the world, wouldnt you want to pass it on? And this secret isnt some cult or religion or anything, its backed by a lot of things - Science, Philosophy, Psychology, Religion, and Spirituality, as well as my own observations. I do not ask that you believe me or follow me or whatever, but if you struggle, please try it out and ask questions you may have. So this is how it works. Everyday people have thoughts, and these thoughts make up how we feel. Some thoughts raise us up, making us feel happy, and others bring us down, making us feel sad, I think everyone understands this part. People believe other, external or environmental, things can raise us up or bring us down, and that is true, but there is one part of the equation people miss out on. (What I mean is, things happening to us outside of our control). ITS OUR THOUGHTS OF THESE THINGS OUTSIDE OF OUR CONTROL THAT ARE IN FACT IN OUR CONTROL. Heres an example. I got pulled over the other day for going 5 miles over the speed limit (while everyone else was going the same speed) and was issued a warning, making me even later to where I was going. I could have gotten upset, I could have had anxiety, but I CHOSE NOT TO. I controlled my thoughts on the matter and it didnt bother me 1 bit. (Please note that this example situation is minor, but it can be applied in any situation). So yeah, make note of the fact that we have thoughts on our external stimuli (as well as internal). Changing those thoughts from negative to neutral (or positive) changes our reaction to them. Though this means, you can control your emotions. But keep in mind, no matter what, there is always going to be ups and downs, this is the human experience. But those ups and downs dont need to be as drastic as you may perceive. This idea actually goes beyond changing ones emotions. Im currently working on shifting my perspective of myself through affirmations. Now, affirmations only work if you believe them to be true at your deepest level, so the first thing that must be done is convince yourself it works and hold it true in your heart. When I have time to and remember to, I repeat these things to myself (internally in thoughts, as well as spoken to myself sometimes): I am Loved I am Successful I am Rich Affirming I am Loved Makes you feel loved (and it shouldnt be fake, you should actually love yourself), will cause you to be yourself more. You should stop looking for external ways to feel loved, and less likely to be influenced by other people. This should give you a high level of freedom, Ive practiced this one the most, as its the most important. Affirming I am Successful This one Im doing the most of these days. Ive been working diligently on a game released it a few months ago. I started Affirming Success about a month ago, and the moment I took it to heart, my project has seen a big flux of number of people who enjoy the game online. Ive also seen a big flux in the efficiency of my latest progress. Affirming I am Rich I do this one the least to be honest. I dont really care much for money, but as it stands Im Jobless and need to find one quickly. I actually took this affirmation to heart a few nights ago and the next day I relieved a call from a potential employer. Today, I also found another employer I applied to - This is after months of literally seeing nothing available.
