I heard from my mother last night after shed been to the Veterans - TopicsExpress

I heard from my mother last night after shed been to the Veterans Home in Bangor to visit my Dad. She said he seemed more alert than he has (medication tweakage) and though the physical therapist gets him up each day to help him walk, he is really too tired for it. This is quite a switch for him as he has always been very disciplined and faithful to do whatever exercises he has been given by the doctors. I am hesitant to say what this means or doesnt mean... I just have to say that Dad is in his 80s and has been through a lot of health crisis in his life. Hes bounced back miraculously from so much - two open heart surgeries, gastric bypass (in the early 80s when it was very new and rare), several strokes - a few major, bouts with internal bleeding (the list goes on...) but it doesnt seem like he has that same fight in him anymore. I appreciate the thoughts, prayers and concern. Its a rough patch, for sure. April will never be my favorite month and this year, it just feels like another month of winter. Spring will be in the air soon and with any luck, Dad will make it to his 83rd birthday and beyond and I will feel new life and inspiration springing forth along with it. After walking around like a zombie for a few weeks, last night I was able to get back to my manuscript and continue with the research that has to be done to complete it. I am compelled by uncertainty and the Russian Roulette it plays with the potential that could be realized in each and every moment.
