Waggoner Road Junior High Sept. 23 Update Dear Waggoner Road Junior High Community, Your students continue to be resilient. Today at WRJH, we are incorporating blended learning resources. Each student has access to a device that will be used for blended learning at school. Students will also have access to the content at home. These blended learning resources will be used throughout the year and provide an additional tool as we continue to build rotation models in each of our classrooms. A rotation model includes individual student learning on the device, teacher facilitated instruction and small group collaboration. Edgenuity Students will be using Edgenuity for Language Arts and Math. Today, students are receiving their log-in credentials and watching an introductory video about the software. Then, students will be taking a pre-assessment. The program will build a personalized curriculum for each student based on the pre-assessment performance. Students are beginning that curriculum today. https://learn.education2020/student/ Information about Edgenuity: edgenuity/the-experience/student-experience/ Achieve 3000 Students will be using Achieve 3000 in Language Arts, Science and Social Studies. Students are also receiving their log-ins for this program. Students are completing the Level Set. This feature will precisely match non-fiction texts to the students reading level. Achieve 3000 will automatically adjust the text difficulty based on the students daily performance on formative assessments. After the Level Set, students began to experience Achieve 3000 with either the assigned Social Studies lesson or were able to choose a topic of interest in Science. Students were given the opportunity to choose their topic of interest as a strategy to become familiar with the program and to also encourage non-fiction reading. achieve3000 Both Edgenuity and Achieve 3000 expose students to a variety of assessment types. All progress captured in these two programs will be graded and reported in PowerSchool for the appropriate course.
