I hope everyone is having a great weekend. Ive been going over some of the models this morning and here is what Im thinking for the next 7-days. Monday: A cold system will clip northern and northeastern Utah. A few light rain/snow showers will be possible in the morning (6AM-Noon). Most of the precip will be over the mountains where we could see a couple inches of snow. Expect a big drop in temps, about 10-20 degrees over northern Utah. Mild and dry weather will continue down south. Tuesday & Wednesday: Cool and dry weather over the area. Highs only in the 40s over northern Utah. Wednesdays temps will be even colder. Thursday & Friday: Temps will actually increase as our next storm system arrives. More light/moderate valley rain and mountain snow will be possible. Once again not the strongest storm. Showers will be on and off. Next weekend: Some of the models bring in the coldest air of the season by far. We are talking about highs in the 30s and lows in the teens & single digits. Light snow would be possible on Saturday. This is definite not locked in so stay tuned to the latest forecast. All of these storms are lacking moisture to bring us lots of precip. But if we can break down the ridge then we can definitely see more active weather for Utah.
