I joined the male chorus the second semester of my junior year, in 1975. My senior year I was in male chorus and a cappella. Mr. Clark asked me to try out for Valley Singers and I declined (duh). I didnt get to know Mr. Clark very well during high school, but 10 years later when I returned to WDM I was drawn back to taking voice lessons with him. That became one of the richest experiences of my life. The greatest lessons I learned were about the faith journey, which he led me through by the selection of music he provided. He provided me the opportunity to sing at his church often and even had the pleasure of singing duets with him. We participated in many Bible studies and he helped to open my eyes. I wish I had known him better in high school, but the richness of our friendship in his last year and half had a huge impact on my life. Three men have had the most significant influence in my life; my dad being one, a long time mentor another, and Chuck Clark.
