I just came from lunch with my friends from the Naval Hospital - TopicsExpress

I just came from lunch with my friends from the Naval Hospital Bremertons Industrial Hygiene Department for the occasions of saying goodbye to two contractors who worked in the Admin function with me, Mike Kelly and Lori Barton. Their contract expires at the end of the month. We also said goodbye to one of the best officers Ive had the experience working with, LCDR Eric Carlson. He is a very sensible and down to earth officer. A rare quality among those officers Ive and the pleasure of working with and for. I am also moving on from the Industrial Hygiene department and will begin working Monday at U.S. Navy Region Northwest as a Public Safety Dispatcher in the Regional Dispatch Center (RDC). It is a position that has promotion potential to GS 7, with overtime opportunities and shift differential, in a nutshell, more money! I will miss many of those that I worked with at IH, but my new job is five miles from home. That and the opportunity for advancement made this a no-brainer decision. Ill miss the camaraderie that I had with many at IH. They are in good hands, although the Admin function has been reduced from 3 full time positions to one, with in a couple of weeks, they have strong leadership. I am looking forward to my new adventure and opportunities to put some aspects of my BA in Criminal Justice to work.
