I just finished my last day in my Field classroom (Im in a 12th grade classroom). I handed back my papers that the students completed for one of my lessons today. My directing teacher told me that this student named Justin (whos paper I kept as an example of excellent student work) asked her when I went to the bathroom where his paper was. She told him that I kept his to show in my portfolio. He said ....She thinks Im smart? And she said Yes, Justin. When I got back into the room, my teacher called Justin up to me and asked him to repeat what he said to her. He said I was very surprised that you kept my paper and think that I am smart. and I said Why are you surprised? and he said Youre the first teacher to ever tell me that I was smart. Thank you for making me feel like I am worth something. At least I moved one student. Hopefully I can move many more when I am a teacher. :)
