I just got back from the hospital. Erik is looking better and his spirits are better. The ultrasound showed no permanent liver damage and Erik got a blood transfusion so he has more color to him. Tomorrow they are doing an MRI trying to find any pocket of fluid they can draw from to try to discover what kind of infection this is. The doctor said this would be a clearer picture than what the CT scans have provided. I learned today how large his blood clot really is. It is a 2 foot long blood clot that formed because the swelling in his leg had clamped off one of his veins and the blood was going down his leg but had no way to get back up which created the enormous amounts of swelling and the large clot. They have him on a blood thinner but want to do another later when they finally rule out surgery, which they havent done yet. There of course is still swelling in his leg which Erik feels is getting better, but I am unable to notice. But, even small improvements are good! There is still no timeline so I have a feeling he will still be there a while, but we are thankful to have him back in the area so we can see him. We are also thankful for the numerous visitors he had today. It brightened his day for sure. Thank you for the continued prayers and support. ~Erin
