I just got in to work, and lined up for coffee but decided this - TopicsExpress

I just got in to work, and lined up for coffee but decided this time to have coffee and raisin bun deal. When I ordered I asked for the bun to be just buttered not toasted (it goes all hard n dry by time I get to office to eat). When handed the bun found that it had been toasted, so I said sorry, could I have another cause I didnt want it toasted. Most of the staff went "yeah, sorry bout that" but the pastry chef who - a venezualan man - toasted it became quite anxious and upset that he had made this mistake. His anxiety reached quite high levels and I realised that the poor guy thought he was going to be fired for making this mistake. I mean what the hell situation has this man faced that such anxiety would turn into FEAR. And he is from Venezuala, not a country that I immediately associate with the desperateness of other places that people are fleeing from. But here is this guy trying to carve out life for himself here away from whatever it was that has turned him into a fearful person - FOR TOASTING A FREAKING BUN!!!! SO if you are of the mindset that people are coming here to freeload and all that bullshit please defriend me now. I cannot describe what I am feeling - that someone who has resettled here has experienced something in there lives that has made them so fearful
