I just got to jump in here tonight and speak about some things - TopicsExpress

I just got to jump in here tonight and speak about some things that have been riding me, yes I got to get some relief and that is what this Church with a Kingdom Heart in a country setting does for me. I am taken back to my childhood and the vision is clear as day. It is a memory of great value as people worked hard to care for their families. Why, it was unheard of to lock your doors at night for people looked out for one another and if someone needed help to get their crops harvested, neighbors would show up to lend a helping hand for they knew that their crops were what they depended on to buy their kids school clothes and maybe a nice present for Christmas. Twenty dollars would fill up the entire bed of a pick up truck with enough food to last a spell. The women would cook all day on Saturday so they could worship and rest on Sunday. Some preachers back then could not read or write their name but they could read their bible. Some had to be helped to get in then pulpit because of their age and in frailties but would soon come alive and preach all over the church once they took hold of their Royster. I have spoke with people who came up in those hard times that were eye witness to people getting happy and hugging red hot pot bellied stoves that were usually in the center of the church and not get burned. Well, I remember being at a church and watching rain water drip over a lit light bulb just over the pulpit and land in a placed bucket without blowing the light. Boy, these child hood memories of churches working together and praying for revival. They did not send out for a preacher, they prayed until GOD SENT THEM an Evangelist and people would get saved inside the church and out side. I know one time I went with my grandfather who was a prominent Methodist Preacher to a home coming. We got there late and the tables out side were loaded with food. he said we probably could not get inside but I managed to slip under some of the mens legs and see what was going on. As I looked inside, there were people standing and lining the walls for all the seats were taken. I remember it looked like a haze was all around the church like looking at the heat rising off of a road on a hot summer day. The preacher had his hand to his ear and with his eyes closed was walking as if being guided by some unseen hand and you could see heaven shining on his shoulders as he preached of a heaven to gain and a hell to shun. The women were shouting and dancing with their hair pins flying through the air. Some big strong man would be sitting by a shouting woman crying his eyes out. Well, I knew people back then did not have much money but if you could have seen what I saw as a young child you would have thought they had struck it rich and were millionaires. Now being so young, I had no idea why they were so happy and the thought that came to me was they were happy because of all that food out side on the tables. I shall never forget that song they were singing that still rings in my head today and it was What A day That shall be When My Jesus I Shall See, When I Look Upon his Face, The One Who saved Me By His Grace, Oh yes When He Takes Me By The hand and Leads me To The Promised land. MY MY MY Take us back Lord to those days when a church would be praying for u to move the hindrance and they would have to stop the revival and hold a funeral for some deacons. yES YES YES God bring order to your church and strip the masks off of the robbers in your house. Take us back to those wonderful church days when people had a holy reverence for your house and your name that would cause one to write the famous song with the beautiful words of the model church. Well, I think you get the picture as for me, I still long for those ole tent meeting with the sinners getting saved in the saw dust. Be Blessed, Jerry; Guardian angel
