I just have to brag on our Cancer Center, University Cancer & Blood Center We met with Karen Williams today who handles the Living Well Division. Her job is to help you live with your cancer diagnosis. I LOVED her. Such a blessing. We spent time figuring out pain issues for Chad. From what we can tell Chads pain in his chest, upper body, shoulders, arms, neck, back are all referred pain from the pancreas. The way she described it was there is not much room inside our body to begin with, when you have a tumor growing anywhere it pushes on everything and creates pain. So we are changing up some of his current pain meds to see if we can get a combination that works for his body. Karen talked with us about how we are doing as a family and individually. We will meet with her monthly from here on out. She will be there to support us as things come up in the future. We know that any cancer that has already metastases to another organ is not curable. Chads was colon cancer with mets to his liver when we found it and now to the pancreas. The goal is to Treat, Treat, Treat until it stops working. I am thankful that God continues to place wonderful, caring Drs in our path.
