I just have to take a moment to acknowledge Bryon Smith. I have been impressed by Bryon since he told me of his love for the theater. Not only is Bryon a good all around guy, but hes also a man who works full time as Fed Ex driver. This man saves his vacation days every year to use it for rehearsals for whatever musical he may get. Tonight he went on for our Val Jean who was struck with a BAD throat infection 5 days before we closed.... Tonight Bryon Smith stepped and blew me AWAY.... I want to be clear that I knew he was a great talent before tonight....always committed to the point that I teased him about having the best cross in the show😜..... But when he stepped on that stage in one of the most physically difficult and vocally demanding males roles out there .... not only was he beyond prepped and ready..... but he gave a beautiful heartfelt, powerful performance both physically and vocally from beginning to end. I am in awe and it was honor to play opposite tonight. Brought me to tears..... Congrats 1000 times
