I just learned of the passing of my dear friend and fellow band member, Russ Tincher, drummer, percussionist in our group, Solar Plexus. Russ suffered a massive heart attack on Sunday. I am devastated by the news. What a great guy he was. He taught me so much about time and space within our complex compositions. We worked very close in performance. He was my go to guy on stage. We recorded three albums together and performed many Concerts, Jazz Festivals and club dates. I am so sad as I write this... with tears spilling down my cheeks...he was special and such a kind, gentle guy, and much too young to leave us so soon. Russ is pictured below on left end. His qualities and gentlemanly ways will always stay in my memory. He was truly a great friend. And I loved him very much. Go with God, my friend. Thank you for all the music. I shall cherish the time we shared...
