I just read on February 03, of this year another child ended up with hyperbilirubinemia. This child also now has the diagnosis of Kernicterus, come on people Gavin is going to be 12 in August and this condition continues to happen. Babies were being exposed to toxic levels of bilirubin, and being diagnosed with brain damage cause by it before Gavin was born and this senseless tragedy continues to happen. Please take a stand for every single yellow baby and make sure you hold the medical professionals to the fire demanding this never happen to another precious neonate! The complacency towards jaundice has caused a raise in the number of Kernicterus cases at this point one more case is one too many!! This type of brain damage is preventable, lets stop it from happening to any other family!!
