I just realized that a year ago today, we closed on our house in NY, and at 2PM we both got in our cars and started the 2,200+ mile trek. This morning we went to the mountain and were greeted with 10 of new snow, the place was empty, like our own private resort, so quiet skiing in the trees with no people, evergreens full of snow, just amazing, brought sandwiches and just ate them on the gondola. Just about everyone that works there knows us by name, although some wish I would stay home :) I see things that need improvement and am quick to complain. I know now this was the right move, until we get tired of this place and move to Montana!
