I just want to let everyone know how proud I am of Madeline, she is wise beyond her years. For school, she did a research paper over the stereotypes of teen pregnancy and she came to me with questions, she used me as an example, and I couldnt have been happier to help! Her last paragraph said this, and I dont think I could have said it better. Thank you for acknowledging the hardships and the beautiful blessing that comes from them. Teen pregnancy is not always the easiest path to take in life and comes with many hardships. James E. Faust once said “In this life, we have to make many choices. Some are very important choices. Some are not. Many of our choices are between good and evil. The choices we make however, determine to a large extent our happiness or our unhappiness, because we have to live with the consequences of our choices.” The ‘consequences’ of their choice is a baby and the responsibilities and judgments that come along with it. In the end, no matter all of the statistics teen mothers are classified in the human mind as unfortunate. But in my mind, a successful teen mother is courageous, and brave for fighting against their negative statistics and proving them wrong.
