I just want to put up a few words of praise for Creation Entertainment. Disclaimer: I have been to a ton of Conventions but Torcon 2014 will be my first Creation/SPN Con, and I am looking forward to it *very much*. So... I see a lot of complaining on the boards, which generally seem to distill down to the prices are too high or the prices are higher than before and the perks have been reduced. Let me tell you why I bought a gold ticket a year ago for Torcon this year and was *Delighted* to pay that money, in fact I felt like I couldnt hand it over fast enough. 1 Assigned seats. You get an assigned seat. NO one else can sit in your !@#$ seat, even if you have to go to the bathroom or run to your room - this means you dont have to wait in a line all day and then not even get in, like I heard about some heartbroken fans at San Diego ComicCon waiting on line since the wee am hours and not even getting into the panel. I need my sleep, I have to work and cant wait for days on a line and even GA gets a seat, Creation doesnt oversell. This is my number one reason for being glad to fork over the fee, regardless of which ticket tier I choose to buy in the future *There will be a seat in every panel for me.* 2 The guests show up when they say they are going to. Its hard to describe the irritation and disappointment at certain Cons Ive attended lately where many, many of the guests cancel, sometimes with almost no notice, and the entry tickets and travel plans are of course not refundable. Unless they are really really ill, Creation guests do not have professional commitments crop up at the last minute. They show up, you get your ops and autographs and panels. 3 I LOVE the single fandom specific, one-track format. From what Ive seen and heard, no one actors panel is running simultaneously with someone elses that you are also a fan of, so assuming you didnt win every meet and greet or something, you get to see ALL of it. You wont be freaking out in one photo op line that you are missing your other photo op. And everyone at the convention should understand most in-jokes and cosplay and all that, that one fandom at a time format just seems freaking delightful to me. :-) Also Creation seems pretty good about letting you know what is happening where and where you should be waiting, which has been *horrible* at other Cons Ive attended. Thats it. Just those reasons alone are enough for me to buy a ticket, no matter what other perks are removed. I want an assigned seat and I want the guests to show up. I went gold for better seats and because I DO want the included face time autographs so it seemed like a good value, but I am a relatively new fan, I appear to be in the major demographic group that this fandom seems to be weighted towards (female, somewhere from 15 - 99) and I have a job. More and more fans are piling into this fandom every year, and Creation doesnt oversell seating. I expect the prices will continue to go up and the perks will continue to go down, but the swelling of the fandom is giving this show continued momentum and as long as they keep having Cons and I keep having a job, I will throw my money at them and I will not complain one bit. I AM ECSTATIC this fandom has so many conventions and I hope I can attend more than one before *and* after this show should end. (PLEASE NEVER!) :-) So far, and bear in mind I havent actually *attended* the Con yet, I *love* Creation. :-)
