I just wanted to throw my two cents in on the Presidents comments yesterday about stay-at-home moms: While I know a lot of parents dont have the option or desire to stay at home with their kids all day (I dont know that I could), I have tremendous respect for women who choose to sacrifice potential present and future income to stay at home and raise their children. I think these women should be applauded and honored for their sacrifice and priorities, rather than being told that their choice to stay at home was not a choice we want Americans to make. A choice that I want all Americans to make is to put their kids and family first. That will mean different things to people in different circumstances, and it doesnt just mean staying home all day, but making the family a priority would do wonders for our society.
