I keep trying to think of a way to explain the problem. A gun is just a gun. No more dangerous than a rock, or a banana, until it is put in the hands of an idiot, or a sociopath. The banana peel well that can kill you too, but nobody ever brought 500 bananas to a school cafeteria thinking Im going to kill someone. Rocks are a little better, its hard to carry enough to commit mass murder without giving yourself a hernia. Guns are different, a crazy person can pass on the bananas, and the rocks, going directly to an AK47 and then we have a problem. So guns dont hurt people, people hurt people. We need to understand this and regulate people. Of coarse that means keeping sociopaths, nut jobs, angry people, and assholes away from guns. They can have all the bananas and rocks they want, just no damn guns
