I knew it! I freakin knew it was too good to be true! So heres a funny little story for Facebook, since I AM a storyteller and all. Coasting off the high of confidence I got from getting that mysterious gym girls number and asking her out at some unspecified time (to which she agreed), I played it cool and waited to text her several hours after the great conversation we had, like she asked me to do. I texted a simple hello with some goofy charm thrown in, but no answer all night. I waited until early in the afternoon the next day to try again, with a much shorter, simple greeting. Didnt want to come off as eager or thirsty, after all. Again, no reply. At this point, I start to kick myself believing I might have copied her number into my phone incorrectly, and so I weighed my options. I could risk calling the number and have her answer, assuming she never got the texts for some reason, call and find out I really had gotten the wrong number, or call, and chance annoying her assuming she had seen the texts and just couldnt respond, making me look all the more desperate. I went with the safest choice and went to the gym, hoping to catch her there. As fate would have it, not only did my car mysteriously catch a flat tire for no discernable reason, it was also raining outside. So I decided to walk to the gym in the rain just for the unlikely chance I would catch this mysterious, amazing girl again whose first name I only manage to get. I didnt see any sight of her for a good hour and decided to work out until surprise, she actually showed up. Like an idiot, I walked over to her, again, playing it cool and waiting for the right time, and explained that I had tried to text her and assumed I copied her number wrong. She in turn revealed that not only did I copy her number correctly, but that she saw the texts and chose not to reply because her BOYFRIEND, who she did not tell me about, saw them and decided it would not be a good idea if she answered. Rather, she hoped she would run into me at the gym again so she could explain her circumstances in person. So how does this story end? I told her that I completely understood and told her that her boyfriend is a lucky guy, which he is. Times like this, I really do believe fate is literally conspiring to keep me alone. I really am getting sick of getting jerked around by girls. Even so, I bear neither them nor her ill will, nor do I believe she was supposed to go out with me just because I asked her out. That would make me a jerk for expecting such a thing. The cards just werent lined up in my favor for some reason (they never seem to be). Uggghhh....! #noluckwithwomen
