I know Adam- Paul- Causgrove would like to keep this a civil - TopicsExpress

I know Adam- Paul- Causgrove would like to keep this a civil Facebook Group with no virtual shouting and the like, but I would like to keep you all appraised of the topics of conversation that Ive seen springing up on the corresponding Paws for Olympia Park Progress Facebook Group (a seemingly anti-park page). I only share this information so that you are all aware of what some people seem to THINK is actually on the table. I quote verbatim: 1) Observation: Several people report seeing dogs running at large in Olympia Park (outside of the OLEA). Several people report seeing dogs do their business and owners walk away without cleaning it up. Do you think installation of security cameras in the new dog park should be considered to document such violations when they occur? 2) Fact: Our park land and physical facilities are maintained by employees of the Department of Public Works who are covered by the Joint Collective Bargaining Agreement. The current dog park fence & area affected the maintenance protocol within Olympia Park. There has been talk about a stewardship agreement to delegate care & light maintenance of the new OLEA/dog park to the dog club PAWS for Olympia. 3) Fact: The Mayor will tour potential areas for the new dog park with delegations from the neighborhood and PAWS. Initially, each delegation will accompany the Mayor separately on tours of potential areas. Within a week the Mayor will meet with the neighborhood delegation. After that meeting tour dates will be determined. Please message me with suggestions of areas that you think should be considered, please be as landmark or address specific as possible. The area must be nearby and easily accessible to residents of Mt. Washington/Duquesne Heights. Dont worry about detail - determining feasibility for the intended use is part of the planning process. Just send me some suggestions! 4) Fact: The current dog park location costs Pittsburgh taxpayers money with added potential for liability, lower level of land use, environmental and social costs. The relocation of the current dog park will cost Pittsburgh taxpayers money. For opinion only: Do you think imposition of a nominal user fee should be considered?
