I know a lot of my friends in Europe dont like The BBC, but I love the BBC. Growing up on the east coast of Ireland I could get the only channels they had then, BBC1 and BBC2. It was called pipe television and was similar to cable internet in that it was literally piped into your home. My Irish colleagues on Bonditunes, such as Ken OSullivan, Declan Hughes, Terry McSweeney, Bob McKenzie and others will contest to this. Whatever happened to The BBC? Or did anything happen? They are accused of being right wing, or left wing. Like all National Broadcasters, they will be accused of just about anything, and everything. They can never win. We have the same problem with The ABC in Australia. I remember watching BBC 1 TV in the late sixties when I was a child. It left the Irish National Broadcaster RTE for dead. It was so much more professional than its friends across the ocean. I was once blessed to work for the BBC in London in Broadcasting House on Oxford street, where BBC WORLD SERVICE operated. The BBC is still the biggest news organisation in the world, dwarfing NBC, ABC, CBS in American, the terrestrial networks, and CNN, and Fox News on cable. Despite living in Australia, I can watch The BBC at any time in real-time. I must admit BBC 1 TV has gone terribly commercial, but overall I have a love affair with The BBC and no one is taking that away from me any time soon. I sent this following video up earlier and Im doing it again. BBC introduces BBC Music..How brilliant. WELL DONE BBC. youtu.be/XqLTe8h0-jo
