I know a lot of people who are in the multi-level marketing - TopicsExpress

I know a lot of people who are in the multi-level marketing business. I am happy for their achievement and success. Period. Im saying this so that if youre going to read on, you will not get any idea that Im bashing. Im just realistic. Business is business. However, not all business is for everyone. I catch myself in awe with how people try to use dilemma method in selling these kinds of businesses. E.g, nagaral ka ng ilang taon para sumahod Lang ng ganito. Wala kAng pera panginvest ngayon kasi Di mo kailangan at bata ka pa, wala kang panginvest kasi kulang budget sa family etc. I get it. Its a strategy. But again, a certain business is not necessarily for everybody. If theres anything that I learned, here they are: 1. We were all sent to school. A corporate job or any other job requires hardwork, dedication and perseverance to succeed. Its a ladder that you climb. I hope they dont make feel people bad about their jobs just because they think they are not fairly paid. 2. Investment comes in different types. I was once told, umutang daw ako para may pang member kasi kikitain ko din naman daw yun pabalik. Reality is? Shelling out money or getting a loan to invest is a case to case basis. Sure, I will loan from pag-ibig to buy myself a house. Its still considered an investment but its a necessity. How about putting up a new venture? a food stall for example. You will not put it up without a plan. The amount is bigger and the risk is really there. Come to think of it, the money is hard-earned money. That is why there are a lot of considerations and study before putting it up. If I will join in a multi-level marketing, the money should be extra money not from a loan nor money budgeted for another purpose. 3. I heard an interview in a radio. I think the owner of Size Matters was the guest. He said, one should overcome fear to put up a business. And hes right. Failure will be your fear. Pero, lets be realistic. Ten thousand just to join is still ten thousand, if I borrow that amount, its going to be my debt to pay. Please see the difference of putting up a venture and joining the multi-level marketing. 4. Heres the thing, they say that products are easy to sell, wala akong gagawin and I just need to be masipag. Cmon. Thats the same thing with having a job, climb up the ladder and get a stable pay. Years from now, Id probably get a 6-digit pay, a car and a nice looking bonus check. And those are the fruits of my labor. What I know for sure, its not just a hype kind of thing. I dont get a hundred thousand check, fine but my job provides me assurance. A monthly salary, HMO, medical benefits, SSS, Pagibig, Philhealth. I am not sure if the multi-level marketing offers the same peace of mind. 5. I told someone, sige, Ill join, sagutin mo muna yung membership ko. Tapos, babayaran ko nalang sayo pag kumita na or nakapag-pasok na ako. Funny ayaw niya. So you see, if it worked for you, thats great!! If Im skeptical, then its my loss. I just find it a little upsetting that the punchline of their selling strategy punches the ego of someone who works hard in the corporate world. Maann Sagun
