I know a lot of us feel that Discovery Channel, The Learning Channel and their ilk have had a severe drop in quality over the decades, sacrificing quality educational program for shit reality tv, etc. But Im especially disappointed in Discoverys Shark Week offerings in recent years. I loved Shark Week. I begged my parents to stay up late and watch the specials. And what I remember from those specials was an over-arching message that sharks are not bloodthirsty killers, but very complex organisms we still know very little about. And already Ive seen multiple ads this year that basically hype up the WOAMG KILLER SHARKS worse than some SyFy specials. Discovery, come on. Youre better than sensationalism. Stop being a bottom feeder media outlet.
