What is so important about a Godly Father? I can tell you growing up as a little girl, I remember many times my dad would take us to church and let us hear the Word of God. I never forgot those times that he sacrificed his time so that we could learn about the Lord Jesus Christ. He would work all week and make time for mother and us children. I remember sitting on my dads lap and him reading to me and even telling me stories about the Lord, as we grew older many times we walk away from that, which we have been so blessed to receive. I did so, I recall all the things I couldnt do and didnt like the rules and regulations, but then I found my own relationship with the Lord. I never forgot those times that were so blessed, to spend with our father. Growing up, my dad would take us girls to dinner on our birthday, by ourselves. It was our time to be daddys little girl for one night. We were able to pick out any gift from the store, anything we wanted, I remember picking out a Cocker Spaniel dog figurine, I treasured that item. Even when I became a married woman, I still had this item and it would bring back wonderful memories of that special evening, just me and daddy. Well, Ive grown up, but I still love to talk to my dad, I love to him him say, I love you honey, it touches a real soft place in my heart. No matter where I am, I know that he is just a phone call away, we dont always agree, but thats okay, because he is still my daddy. I thank the Lord that I still have my parents. I still honor them, as the Word of God states, Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee. Exodus 20:12. God chose my father for me, he intended for us to be able to have someone that will love, protect, and depend on, even when we get older. I pray that if he needs me, I will also, be just a call away...I love you dad!!!
