I know a person from where I come from.He is not a member of the ANC.He has never been a member of the ANC.Yet he is a staunch supporter. He canvases votes for the ANC yet he always criticizes the ANC.He gives interesting insights and perspectives about the ANC. When we were both unemployed...we would meet at the Library everyday because I was studying at UNISA and He was studying at TSA. He did not talk a lot, but often at times I would be asked why is that person only interested to speak to you and not us.So I felt compelled to ask him.I said to him but why is everybody saying you ar not interested to speak to them yet you always speak to me...he said in most cases the issues they are talking about relates to the bold, days of our lives and generations and I do not watch any of those programs, therefore I feel left out.I asked another question but then again why do you only talk to me, he said you always reflect on issues that affect my daily challenges which I feel compelled to respond to.But secondly your point of difference always educates me and challenges me on a daily basis. I felt weak at my knees because half the time I would only be speaking from the point of my knowledge and experience.Anyway the point I am raising is we may not know everything about anything but the one thing we say about something we know opens up an opportunity for dialogue that may educate us as much as it does those that are debating with us.Never allow for anyone to close space for a good debate. For that is where ideas and plans may emerge...
