I know its getting close to that time tomorrow where polls close - but its almost never too late. Whatever, some dont know. For those who care, here is a link to a sample ballot and referendums to take a look at before voting. Easily more important than who you vote for (I know, youre sick of partisan politics, so am I but still kinda important) are the referendums: 1 state and four county if youre in Milwaukee that is-cant speak for other counties. County are non-binding so wont go into effect now (though some should) but probably will in the months or years to come - so things could get bad or a little less bad. Sum summaries. State: ok cant brief this one “Creation of a Transportation Fund. Shall section 9 (2) of article IV and section 11 of article VIII of the constitution be created to require that revenues generated by use of the state transportation system be deposited into a transportation fund administered by a department of transportation for the exclusive purpose of funding Wisconsin’s transportation systems and to prohibit any transfers or lapses from this fund?” Through all the double-speak it basically asks do you want the state to spend more money on expanding highway system? This is binding to my knowledge. County 1) Human beings and not corporations are entitled to free speech, money is not speech and therefore regulating it does not violate 1st amendment rights. yes/no 2) Should Wisco state legislature accept all available Badger Care funding to ensure coverage for 1000s of Wisconsinites? 3) Should the state of Wisco. increase minimum wage to $10.10/hr? 4) Finally, should Milwaukee County transition from an elected county executive to a Professional County Administrator (appointed)?
