I know many people are scared and angry, incidents like the beheading in Oklahoma are bringing reality a little too close to home for many Americans. So many people are waking up to the fact that beheadings are not just over there but here. Emotions are running high, and its easy to allow the media and our fears to control our focus. Time to take a step back. Do you believe that God loves the whole world? Even Muslims? Even these killers, and the wanna-be killers who rally to support them? As we watch the news and as the making of the news encroaches on our communities, we have got to keep our heads on straight. We cannot give in to the fearful, emotional frenzy that is about to erupt in this country. We dont have to allow ourselves to be manipulated, we can keep actual reality in perspective, and face it without fear or anger, because WE KNOW the truth. The TRUTH is that this is a SPIRITUAL battle and we must prepare SPIRITUALLY. Yes, they are taking it into the physical, and yes, we should prepare physically as well...but that is SECONDARY and will be less effective in the long run. The best way to counter creeping Shariah and lone jihadis is by uniting with other believers in your community in prayer, and becoming as on-fire for Jesus and with the Bible as they are for Allah with their Koran. This is not a battle of extremists, but of true believers. So BE a true believer and be spiritually prepared for the days to come. This is not a fight between people, but it is carried out by people. Fight first in the heavenlies - in prayer, activating angel armies, learning about the power in the name of Jesus and how to effectively wield it as a spiritual weapon. Pray for God to reveal Himself to the Muslims in your community and around the world, that He would honor their search for truth and allow them to find Jesus. Pray in agreement with God, understanding that many will die as martyrs, just as He said they would. Understanding that many will die of disease, just as He said they would. It takes great courage to agree with God in these final hours, but we can also remind God that He promised a great revival and we can pray for the harvest. But as we pray for the harvest, many are praying that God would send workers to reap it - well thats rather ridiculous. He already sent the workers...WE are the workers. If you are not gathering with Him, you are scattering. If we let ourselves get all worked up with fear and hatred of Muslims, we will be scattering! We can talk honestly about what is going on without being hateful - and many will say that honest discussion is hate speech, dont get confused. But guard your heart, guard your emotions, and memorize and understand Ephesians 6:10-18. Armor up - stay armored up - and speak only TRUTH, in LOVE, in the SPIRIT at all times. YOU can be the peace in your workplace where others are terrified. YOU can be the voice of reason and sanity that disarms an angry group. YOU can reach out to the lukewarm Muslim youve worked with or known for years and show them the Love of Jesus. And, in all practicality, you can also go get that CCP and be ready to protect loved ones or strangers who may need help someday. The 5 wise virgins were prepared physically as well as spiritually to wait for their groom, and we dont know how long we must wait for Jesus, how long this battle may rage. My point though, is that we have to keep ourselves calm and focused first on the Word of God and prayer so we can have and spread peace while we prepare spiritually for battle.
