I know that probably you won’t read this to full extent or even listen to any of the songs listed below. However, today is the international day of music and I would like to dedicate a few words towards the metal genre. In a society of prejudice like ours it is mandatory to judge things on a first glance, most of the times utterly mistaking ourselves. The metal genre is considered by many people as a genre filled with hatred and anger, only because the sounds are heavy or because the singer is “screaming”. Nonetheless the contrary is quite common. Metal is an expression of feelings, sometimes to the extreme, but it is in its very soul a mirror of our society and our sentiments. The misjudgment of the people towards one another is one of the greatest scourges of our society. Metal is a way to open the eyes / ears of people to all of these. Metal is a hard genre to digest yet it is exactly like people – layers upon layers of sentiments that most of the time are repressed. To not extend myself too much I will leave 10 examples of the variety of subjects and feelings you are able to find in the metal genre and all its subgenres. Misjudgment leads us to become worse people every day. Enjoy good music – always – even if it is not metal.
