I like everyone else am absolutely outraged at the level of payments, people like Paul Kiely think he is entitled to. The Central Remedial Clinic has had its reputation torn to pieces by these revelations, and some of the victims of Kielys sickening greed will not be his fellow board members who were complicit in the greedy cash grab by Kiely, but ordinary very sick people who find themselves dependant on the vital services that the CRC provide. These services will be without doubt effected because of an understandibly bad reaction by the public, which will no doubt effect the CRCs future fundraising. Watching the Public accounts committee show their outrage at the goings on inside the CRC can only be understood if you first consider that the HSE knew about these top ups in many of the Health Services and their charities, going back about 4 years, as was already reported in this paper. So when you hear Fianna Fail Fine Gael and Labour express their outrage it has to be understood as all the partys in power over the last 4 years already had some knowledge of these outragous if not illegal cash gabs going on inside both charities and our health service. Another thing to consider before believing the Fianna Fail politicians outrage is the fact that Paul Kiely was part of the Drumcondra Mafia who supported our former Taoiseach Bertie Ahern. And lastly remember this can of worms was originally opened by this Government as a political maneuver to; 1. As a warning to three CEOs who dared say that if any more cuts were made to the health sevices they provide, it would be unsafe for patients. This against a background of the coming €666 million in cuts in the health service this year. 2. To get their PR people to throw out this story with the hope that people would turn their attention away from talking about patients dying because of the deadly effects further savage cuts ould have. This story will continue to run on and on, and I would agree we have to get to the bottom of all this and the people involved who enriched themselves to the detriment of the services they pretended to care about av to be held accountable, but I would plead with you to remember that if these Health Service cuts are allowed go through without being challenged and stopped, members of the public will die because o longer waits on ambulances and small regional hospitals like our Hospital in Navan will be in real danger of closing.
