I like to think that I have faith in mankind. I believe most - TopicsExpress

I like to think that I have faith in mankind. I believe most people are kind and decent and will generally do the right thing. I even extend this belief to strangers until they demonstrate a reason for me not to like them. But there is an exception to the rule. I immediately dislike any boys who are within a few years age of my daughter. My beliefs for them are directly opposite those I hold for other people. For them, they need to demonstrate a reason for me to like them. And currently, I can think of nothing to put on the checklist that would be an adequate demonstration. And thats pretty much my justification for the sideways looks and fist shakings that I hope leave no doubt that a beat down requires little provocation. Today, Boo and her friend, Jen are meeting two boys for what I am assured is a non-date to the movies. This really does fall within the realm of R and I have little to say about it. I imagine that Jens dad, Jim, is in the same boat. So tonight we meet at his house to toast this (non) dating milestone. If we do this right (and often enough) we might just have a hangover tomorrow.
