I live in Paulding County. We knew some snow was coming on - TopicsExpress

I live in Paulding County. We knew some snow was coming on Tuesday. The forecast went from dusting (on Mon am) to 1 (Mon nite) to 1 - 2 on Tuesday morning. We have had many weather systems where the predictions did not occur. Its similar to the boy who cried wolf. We were led to believe that areas south of Atlanta would get the most snow. Those counties did close school on Tuesday - the counties north were not expecting what happened. I walked home from work - it took two hours. I saw many cars and empty school buses in the middle of Cedarcrest Road. No one is to blame. The weather system obviously changed course and it occurred faster than predicted. The temperature never got above 30 degrees - contrary to weather reports. Yes, it was unexpected but when it does happen, you have to make the best of it. As for staggering times for people to leave work in the future, is that really acceptable? Do you think people will really follow instructions on when to leave work? I walked home with several people and we joked about the dusting. We actually received 3.5. The severity of the storm in North Ga. was not relayed in the media. Either people did not listen or did not see the new forecast on Tuesday am. I saw many, many gentleman on four wheelers helping stranded motorists. Lets all thank the kindness of strangers and teachers, administrators, bus drivers, etc. Thanks to all pubic officials making the best of a bad situation. CNN
