I love every day at Tori’s Station but Friday and Saturday at Fairfield Banquet and Convention Center @ Tori’s Station is special! The ballrooms are set with formal linen and sash, looking gorgeous with each couple choosing their own combination of colors and bringing in their special touches for the tables. Mirrors highlighting the centerpieces are sparkling from the overhead lighting. The centerpieces, each custom made, lend elegance and uniqueness to the formal setting. The Bride’s and their bridesmaid’s arrive early to spend time getting ready in the bridal suite. Most of them have hair and makeup artists come in and pamper them. When you walk near the door of the Bridal suite you can hear the laughter and gladness in their voices. Now and again I hear, “You look so beautiful!” coming from the room, this brings a smile to me. The aromas emanating from the kitchen where Chef Dion has been preparing the feasts since the early morning hours make your mouth water and have us scurrying for comfort food by lunchtime. Beautiful creative cakes arrive and are carried gingerly and placed on lighted cake tables to await the celebration. Each baker is brimming with pride as they carefully set up their masterpieces. The DJ’s set up and test their music and the place begins to rock…a small preview of the joyous celebration about to take place. Staff is quietly and continually going about the business of perfection. The outdoor Gazebo Garden is surrounded by the beautiful white chairs awaiting the families and friends to be witness to the love professed for all to hear. I can just imagine quiet vows, whispers and sniffles as the loving couple unveil their innermost feelings and emotions. The garden dressed colorfully with sweet scented flowers is impeccably trimmed. All the arduous, intricate planning by the family, brides, grooms and staff has come to fruition. What a special place to be. Kathleen Hammon
