I love this. There has been a massive amount of posts stating to let your dog or cat stay indoors during the winter as outdoors is too cold. However, as many people with wolfdogs, northern breeds, and even some LGDs can tell you, many dogs prefer to be outdoors during the winter. Not only do many wolfdogs and northern breeds LOVE the snow (if youre in a snowy area), but, these breeds are also double coated. They have a top coat, and an undercoat, meant to keep them cool when its hot, and warm when its cold. Bringing them indoors when theyve been primarily outdoors can cause them to overheat as they are in their winter coats, meant to keep them warmer than the temperature of the area theyre in. That is AWESOME for outdoors when its 30-50 degrees, but, not so much for indoors when its often between 60-80 degrees depending on your home. Please, ignore the info graphics and do what makes the most sense for your animal. If your dog is outdoors, but shivering and whining to be let in, bring them indoors. If they are inside (especially if theyre wearing a winter coat), and panting or showing other signs of being too warm, please, take them out.
