I love when I read an article that tells me something like why exactly I should embrace the 68 billion dollar high speed rail project This in a state the failed to fund 44billion dollars to required programs (retirements insurances etc) this year, but claims a 4billion surplus. Ok so I think lets do some money research... And the state budget is a mass of speculatory estimation, the numbers are vague and in unclear increments and denominations... In fact the budget is so full of bullshit, that even the state auditors and a team of accountants couldnt make heads or tails of it. They cant even be clear about the SGP or even income taxation. There is no chart or graph that clearly denotes revenue to spending, no verbiage to that effect, and in short if these A-holes went on shark tank with a proposal such as this theyd be laughed off the stage. So lets make this simple... Southwest Airlines SFO-LAX $55 (private enterprise, infrastructure already in place) High speed rail FRESNO-LOS ANGELES $68,000,000,000 (proposed estimate) this is on the public ticket from tax dollars that arent enough to operate our über burdened government expenses already. So why is it I should embrace the rail project? How about we promote small business, solar, and green automotive technologies, functional recycling practices, such as expired vegtibles from markets as biomass, and actually do something positive with the money made from these no cost options proves to improve a bad economy? What I wouldnt give to see Reagan back in the governors seat again. Brown failed miserably in six years and nearly tanked our recovering state economy in the late seventies, the only thing that kept us from ruin was national policy in the 1980s (Reagan again)
