I may admittedly be going through some things as I frighteningly and rapidly approach my 40th birthday. Between the 1974 Karmann Ghia like my father, aunt and grandmother used to drive, to the the old 78s and appreciation of these tangible objects from yesteryear... there is such a sense of what has come before, and a love for the design and style of those of years gone by - a nostalgia that cant be found in any other form. And while I may work in the technology industry there is something comforting in exploring the past in this way, being a part of what has come before. Just looking at these artifacts, interacting with them, these pieces of my and our collective history. Theres something so amazing about being able to sit in my highrise apartment and listen to records my family used to hear decades ago, and know that I am a part of it all. I couldnt be happier.
