I met Jon Voight also. My ex husband and I were eating at a restaurant and he looked over and said ya know who that is? I said it looks like Jon Voight but its not. He said yes, it is, I caddy for his mom and hes come to the golf course before. I was star struck. My ex encouraged me to go talk to him but I was so nervous. He told me he was really nice. When I finally got up the nerve he was wheeling his mom out in a wheelchair. I caught up to them and said Mr. Voight? He turned and said yes...I said My name is Patty, I am a big fan and my favorite movie of yours is The Champ He smiled and said well, thank you, shook my hand and said you dont look old enough to remember that movie. I said I was twelve when I first saw it and watched it 5 times in a row, I want to buy it, but its out of print and I cant find it anywhere. He just kind of sadly (for me) said, Im sorry. I said Well, Im sure you have places to go so... He smiled again, shook my hand and said Nice meeting you Patty. I said you too, Mr. Voight. He said, please, if we ever meet again, call me Jon. Im telling you, he made my day, that day and I will never forget it. I finally found the movie online somewhere after searching for years and Ive watched it many, many times since.
